Following up the recent release of the 5th Kaya Project album Firedance, Interchill releases the digital only Firedance ep with remixes from Grouch, Kaminanda, Digitalis and Chaos By Design.
Out on May 27th the ep delivers four tracks that are guaranteed to set fire to the dancefloor. Kaya Project's world sounds get added bass and bounce and are then blended up and recombined into the sonic equivalent of a high THC power smoothie. The man behind Kaya Project is the talented multi instrumentalist and producer Seb Taylor and he contributes two remixes to this ep.
Grouch kicks things off with a remix of 100 Lights that is pure quality and features flute by Pearce Van Der Merwe (Flooting Grooves). This is followed by a dirty drum and bass rework of the title track Firedance from Seb's alter-ego Chaos by Design. All that D&B 20 plus years ago left a mark and it is good to hear more; Kaminanda then takes us on an exotic bass filled journey, brimming with artistry, melody and detail, and a truly epic breakdown. Seb delivers the final Digitalis remix of the track Through the Flames and rounds off the ep.
This album livens my mix of tracks without getting too busy, it's a nice compliment.
I'll also throw a shout out for the track Falling In, from Dreaming Into Being, by Bluetech. One of my all time favorite tracks.
It's not in my bandcamp collection, I got on iTunes yrs ago before dumping that. So good though I had to mention. image3
This was my introduction to Ott, and he's been one of my favorites ever since. The vocals toward the end of the first track get me right in the happies every time. Jesse Butterfield
